Cooking: A Passion that Couldn’t Be Contained
While most professionals unwind after work, Jasmeet found his relaxation in the kitchen. He began hosting elaborate dinner parties for friends and family — infusing his natural creativity into every dish. His cooking wasn’t just about taste; it was about storytelling, just like his design work. Every plate he presented was a canvas, every ingredient a brushstroke.
But it wasn’t Jasmeet who dreamt of reality TV glory — it was his wife. For years, she noticed the brilliance in his dishes and persistently nudged him to apply to MasterChef UK. In 2020, he finally gave in. A leap of faith led to an unforgettable ride.
Out of 6,000, One Jasmeet
Over 6,000 hopefuls applied for MasterChef UK 2020, and only 60 were chosen. Jasmeet Singh was among the select few — a home cook with no professional experience but a burning desire to create.
What followed was a whirlwind of challenges, creativity, and character. Jasmeet didn’t just keep up with the others — he shined. His creativity stood out early on, especially when he presented three different aubergine dishes, stunning the judges with his originality, taste, and flair. He had never cooked in a professional kitchen before, yet he handled every challenge with grace and grit.
From preparing meals for previous contestants and celebrity critics to cooking aboard the HMS Diamond for 120 naval officers, Jasmeet embraced it all. He not only reached the knockout week but was ranked in the Top 7 — making him one of the top semi-finalists of the season.

“Whether I’m working on a marketing campaign or plating a dish, it’s all about impact. I want to make people feel something,” he explains.
With the platform MasterChef gave him, Jasmeet now dreams of upgrading his cooking skills, experimenting with new cuisines, and possibly one day launching something of his own in the food world.
