In an era where compassion often takes a backseat to chaos, Amarpreet Singh has emerged as a powerful and positive force dedicated to lifting lives. Hailed as one of India’s most iconic humanitarians, Amarpreet serves as the Managing Director of Khalsa Aid for the Asia Pacific Region. His story isn’t one of overnight fame—it’s the journey of a man whose unyielding commitment to humanity turned his personal sacrifices into global impact.
From Skies to Service
Amarpreet’s dreams once soared in the sky. He was in the midst of his aviation training, envisioning a future as a pilot, when life gently nudged him in a different direction. In 2012, a turning point came when a destitute individual in his neighborhood needed urgent help. That moment of realization stirred something deep within him. A close friend introduced him to the incredible work being done by Khalsa Aid in the UK.
Curious and inspired, Amarpreet reached out to Ravi Singh, the founder of Khalsa Aid, through social media. He was deeply moved by Ravi’s dedication to humanitarian causes and the way he embodied the values of Sikh Gurus, especially the principle of Sarbat da Bhala—welfare for all. It was this connection that sparked Amarpreet’s desire to leave behind his aviation dreams and devote himself to service full-time.

Building the Backbone of Khalsa Aid in India
In 2013, Amarpreet formally joined Khalsa Aid and soon became the backbone of the organization’s work in India. Under his guidance, Khalsa Aid’s footprint expanded rapidly across the country and the broader Asia Pacific region. From war-torn zones to disaster-struck regions, Amarpreet has led over 50 humanitarian missions in countries like India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Laos, and Sri Lanka.
Whether it was setting up relief camps in the flood-hit regions of Kerala or distributing essential supplies to earthquake-affected families in Nepal, his hands-on leadership has been both fearless and compassionate. Amarpreet has worked tirelessly to ensure that the dignity of each person receiving aid is upheld, making sure they are seen not as victims but as survivors.
Courage Through Crisis
Every humanitarian’s journey is fraught with both triumphs and tragedies. For Amarpreet, one of the most painful chapters came during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic when he lost a close companion, Inderjeet, whom he often referred to as a “soul brother.” The sudden loss left him shocked and emotionally drained. Yet, even in the face of immense grief, Amarpreet stepped up to lead Khalsa Aid’s COVID-19 relief projects across multiple states in India.
He organized the distribution of protective gear, food kits, and oxygen concentrators to areas worst affected by the pandemic. He did all of this while keeping his emotions in check, performing his friend’s last rites, and returning to the front lines with unshakable determination. His resilience during this time has become a symbol of quiet courage and selfless duty.
Leading with Purpose
Amarpreet isn’t just a relief worker; he is a natural leader who inspires action and cultivates unity within his team. Those who’ve worked with him often speak of his ability to stay grounded amidst chaos, to comfort those in need, and to motivate volunteers even during the toughest missions. His empathetic approach to leadership fosters a family-like environment within the organization, one where every team member feels heard and valued.
His efforts go beyond emergency response. Amarpreet is deeply invested in long-term solutions. He has championed initiatives that focus on education, health, and women’s empowerment—areas he believes are essential to breaking the cycle of poverty. Programs under his watch have helped fund surgeries, distribute school supplies to underprivileged children, and offer medical assistance to families in financial distress.
A Hero Among Protesters
One of Amarpreet’s most publicly visible contributions came during the 2020–21 farmers’ protests in India. As thousands of farmers gathered near the Delhi borders to voice their concerns, Amarpreet and his team swung into action. They set up massive shelters that provided warmth, sanitation, and food to protestors—many of whom had traveled from far-flung regions. He ensured the availability of hygienic living conditions, and even introduced small comforts like mobile charging stations and foot massagers, showcasing that humanitarian aid is also about preserving dignity.
This phase of his work highlighted his ability to operate with empathy at scale. He didn’t just offer resources; he offered respect, solidarity, and hope. To those farmers, many of whom were experiencing immense physical and emotional strain, Amarpreet became more than a relief provider—he became a symbol of brotherhood.
Impact That Echoes Globally
Amarpreet’s work has not only touched thousands of lives in South Asia but has also garnered international attention. His selfless contributions have been acknowledged across media platforms and social networks. Yet, he remains humble, often deflecting praise and redirecting the spotlight to his team and the communities they serve.
What sets him apart is his unwavering dedication to serve without bias. Be it refugees, flood victims, or the homeless, Amarpreet believes that compassion should never be selective. His core philosophy remains simple yet powerful: help without judgment, give without expecting, and serve with love.
The Future of Selfless Service
Looking ahead, Amarpreet Singh continues to lead with the same passion that first drew him to Khalsa Aid. He is now working on expanding rural outreach programs and enhancing healthcare access in marginalized regions. His mission is not just to respond to crises but to prevent them by empowering communities with the tools they need to thrive.
He envisions a future where more young people are inspired to join hands in humanitarian work, not just as a profession, but as a way of life. Through workshops, youth engagement programs, and school outreach efforts, he is slowly building a new generation of changemakers—people who will carry forward the legacy of service that he so passionately upholds.
