Randhir Singh Heer’s story is one of resilience, transformation, and profound compassion. Today, he stands as a leading humanitarian figure and the Co-founder and CEO of the Midland Langar Seva Society (MLSS), the United Kingdom’s foremost charity dedicated to supporting homeless individuals and vulnerable communities both domestically and internationally. His journey—from battling addiction and a turbulent past to becoming a symbol of hope and selfless service—resonates deeply with many and serves as an inspiring example of what one person’s dedication can achieve.
Randhir’s early life was marked by hardship and struggle. Once entrenched in a lifestyle dominated by alcohol and the challenges of working as head of security in some of the UK’s toughest nightclubs, he lived a life far removed from the peace and purpose he now embodies. His experiences with addiction and the harsh realities of the night scene were a defining backdrop to a pivotal moment in 2013 that altered his path forever. That year, Randhir experienced a spiritual awakening, reconnecting with his Sikh heritage and embracing sobriety with renewed vigor and conviction.
This personal transformation became the catalyst for a remarkable journey of service. Inspired by the Sikh principles of selfless service (seva) and equality, Randhir found new purpose in helping those less fortunate. Volunteering regularly at gurudwaras, he immersed himself in acts of kindness and community support, finding healing and motivation in every meal served and every life touched. Each experience deepened his commitment, showing him the power that small acts of generosity and compassion could have in transforming lives.
Recognizing the potential to expand his impact, Randhir reconnected with his childhood friend Parmjit. United by a shared vision and values, they co-founded the Midland Langar Seva Society. What started as a humble effort quickly evolved into one of the UK’s most dynamic charitable organizations, now serving tens of thousands across multiple continents.
MLSS has grown into a vast network of compassion and care. Operating across numerous locations in the UK, it has extended its reach globally to places such as Syria, Nepal, Belgium, Thailand, and India. Within the UK alone, MLSS supports over 30,000 individuals every month, distributing more than 150,000 meals. Their volunteers—over 900 strong—are the backbone of this extraordinary operation, supported by a dedicated fleet of vehicles that ensure food and aid reach those who need it most.

Since its inception, MLSS has nourished nearly 2 million people, offering not only food but also dignity, hope, and a sense of community. The charity’s impact goes beyond the tangible; it fosters human connection and reminds society of the power of kindness in healing and transformation.
Randhir’s leadership and vision have earned him admiration far beyond the UK’s borders. Yet, despite the scale of MLSS’s success, he remains deeply grounded in the values that first inspired him: humility, service, and the belief that every act of kindness creates ripples of change.
He often shares that his own transformation is a continuous journey, one fueled by the gratitude he witnesses every day from those his organization helps. Randhir emphasizes that serving others has healed wounds he once thought permanent. His story challenges us all to reconsider what’s possible when one person chooses to turn their life around and dedicate themselves to uplifting others.
Moreover, Randhir’s approach to charity is holistic. He believes that meeting basic needs like food and shelter is only the beginning. True change comes from restoring hope, dignity, and self-worth. To this end, MLSS has incorporated programs that provide emotional support, job training, and community-building activities, ensuring that those they serve can rebuild their lives sustainably.
In the years ahead, Randhir and MLSS aim to further expand their reach, strengthening existing programs and launching new initiatives that address the root causes of homelessness and poverty. His vision includes partnering with local governments, other charities, and businesses to create a more inclusive and supportive society where no one is left behind.
Randhir Singh Heer’s journey from darkness to light is a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the profound impact of compassion in building better communities. His work inspires countless individuals to believe in the possibility of transformation, both personal and societal. Through his leadership at the Midland Langar Seva Society, he continues to write a powerful story of hope, resilience, and unwavering kindness.
